Sep. 28th, 2004 11:55 amNow, as you probably know from earlier posts, I am in no way a fan of Britney Spears. This, however, does not mean I will be hypocritical about it. If someone likes her, and they respect my opinion of not liking her, I will respect theirs. I even have some friends who are fans. It's a nice system we have: If someone insults me for not liking her, they defend me; if someone insults them for liking her, I defend them.
Then, along came xjessj04x. It started when she referred to the Britney fans as being "losers." Of course, some of us rebutted, saying a person shouldn't be judged for the music they like. She won't accept the fact that some of us (Me, Nny, Katz, Rachel) dislike Britney, but want to be fair. She refers to us as "another britney fan/non britney fan who can't make up their mind." When I state that we are only fair and try to respect all opinions and tell her she is behaving immaturely she replies: "people just can't handle what i say because I say the truth...and I guess a lot of ppl can't handle the truth, oh well....I don't care :-)" This girl claims to be 21 years old. She also claims she never "disrespected anyone's opinion"
Now, I've been posting on these message boards for awhile. And, as previously stated, I've become friends with some of the people on it. Upon seeing that some of us have become friends she responds with "awww look at all the loser britney fans , aol friendships soooooo touching....I take it you guys have no friends offline, LOSERS!" I tell her that, yes, we have become friends on the message board. Her reply: "I noticed...because you guys are desperate for friends which you probably don't have offline so you losers can all relate to eachother..awwww thats soooooo sweet. roflmao." She has also told me "go to school, GET A JOB, go to college...do something with your life, MAKE REAL friends OFFLINE...if you guys can manage that..Which is very doubtful." Keep in mind, this is a "mature" 21 year old.
In addition, she has verbally attacked one of the girls on the board (who happens to be 19 and pregnant) calling her a "fucking ho", telling her to just "go and die or something", and basically insulting her choice (she choose to become pregnant) in general. She also made snide comments about this girl "living in a trailer park" and insinuated that this girl was nothing more than white trash.
I don't understand. She becomes angry at us because we "judge her" (and by that I mean, call her immature) when we "don't even know her", yet she can call us "losers" and assume we are Britney fans, despite not knowing us.
This quite possibly the epitome of hypocrisy, ignorance, and immaturity rolled into one.
