Went shopping at Lakeside with my mom. I ended up finding a swimsuit that didn't make me look fat and hid my thighs. It's black with pink trimming along the top, and has a bit of cloth that hangs in the front like a skirt. It's not really a skirt or anything, but it covers my thighs.
Just for kicks, I tried on a one piece that had the back and sides cut out, with a halter in the front. Honestly, I think I looked pretty damn good in it. The only problem was it didn't offer my much support, so I went with the other one.
We stopped in the dress area for my mom to look. She's going on a cruise next Mardi Gras, and was just browsing because two of the dinners will be formal.
I found the greatest dress ever made. It's sleeveless with a flared skirt and it's pink with black polka dots. I tried it on and it fit perfectly. The only problem was it didn't have a priece tag. We brought it to the counter to get a price check, and the lady told us it was $9.99.
My mom and me: $9.99!?!?
Damn I'm good! I once found the greatest dress in Dillards for $6.00. The only reason it had been marked down was because there was a little belt that went with it, and one of the loops for the belt had broken.
Turns out this one was marked down because it was part of a set and they lost the other part.
We headed to the petite section after that, again for my mom's cruise. Again, I found a beautiful burgundy dress with a velveteen top and silk-like (obviously not silk, though) skirt. Again, it was $9.99. I told you, I'm good.
As I was trying it on,
rjenyawd called and told me that he,
sita_face and some other NORD kids were meeting at New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company to eat at 3:30. I was ecstatic. I haven't seen the NORD people (minus
rjenyawd) since August.
Oh My God. How I missed them all. *huggles
sita_face and
rjenyawd*
After, me,
rjenyawd, and Michael headed to
sita_face's house and ended up watching Showkids and gossiping about certain people until she had to kick us out and leave for Showboat rehearsal.
rjenyawd had agreed to give Michael and me rides home. On the way, though, we decided to rent Reefer Maddness The Musical Movie (which I hadn't yet seen) and go to my hosue to watch it.
I swear, I have a new favorite movie. I have to get this soundtrack. Now!
The cast includes Alan Cumming (who is amazing!), Christian Campbell, Kristen Bell, Ana Gasteyer, Steven Weber, Amy Spanger, Neve Campbell (for about...10 minutes), and Michael Goorjian (for about three minutes).
If you have not yet seen this film, go now!
