Dec. 31st, 2006 11:35 pmWent to Borders with my $200 of Christmas money and ym Borders reward card (why I didn't get one sooner I do not know).
First stop were the DVDs. It was a buy three get one free sale. Yes, that's sounds a bit excessive, but I saw quite a few movies I wanted. I immediately grabbed But I'm a Cheerleader, All About Eve, and SLC Punk. I think tried to find, among other things, Little Miss Sunshine and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but to no avail. I spotted Ed Wood, though, and decided to add that as my fourth. I considered getting Casablance, but it was uber-expensive.
I went to the CDs and found On the Twentieth Century. I considered getting Sondheim Sings, but I'd heard some poor reviews of it, and even Sondheim has berated his own singing abilities, so I held off. I may go back, though.
I got information on The Perks of Being a Wallflower from one of those title locators, but it wasn't were it was supposed to be. I found an employee to help me. She found it located up top (not where it was supposed to be). I also grabbed some Archie comics (my guilty pleasure).
When I checked out, the cashier saw SLC Punk.
Her: Have you seen this?
Me: Yeah.
Her: I love this movie! I thought I was the only one!
My total was $99.16 and, thanks to my Rewards card, I saved $10.99. I made a pit stop at Baskin Robbins to grab a sundae (currently in the freezer) and ran to the gym. Usually, no one is in there, so I figured I could just wear my sweats and not need to impress anyone.
Of course, this time someone was in there. Not only did I wish I had cleaned up more, I felt wussy because I didn't last as long as he did on the machines.
So tonight the plan is to stay in and just relax. I have my ice cream and some kaluha my mom sent home with me.
Happy New Year guys!
