Feb. 13th, 2007 09:21 pmWoo! Snow day!
Ok, not really. But classes after 5pm were cancelled. Granted, my alst classes ended at 5:20, so I got nothing out of it (I'm secretly hoping classes are cancelled tomorrow). Seriously, though, I don't think I've ever seen so much snow in my life. Of course I lived in Louisiana for the majority of my life, but still...
We got our scenes in Scene and Songs today. Stephanie wanted us to do It's a Woman's World fron The Full Monty because we have five girls in the class (and one boy). The song is sung by four girls (though one more comes in for the actual scene) so Stephanie was going to have whichever girl didn't sing do a scene with Derek form Barnum. Before she chose, though, she had us all learn the song. Now the song is a very brassy, belty number, and as we're learning it, Jonathan turns around to me and says "I've never heard you sing this way before." (Understandable considering last semester I did "People Will Say We're in Love") "Who are you studying voice with right now?" I told him I was studying with Sharon.
So when it came time to decide who would be in this song, Jonathan told Stephanie he wanted me in this song (as Georgie). Now, whether that's because he thinks I sounded good on it or just becauseit's something I've never done (and thus mroe challenging for me) I don't know. I love the song, though.
Stephanie wants to get two more scenes for two girls, so I may have more to do.
