May. 10th, 2007 10:39 amSo after staying up late last night to write my paper for Theories of Personality and after I had spent the day studying for our final test, I went to class today at 9am. There was a crowd at the corner of Harrison and Michigan, so I went through the 600 Michigan building (side door). When I got out, I was stopped by firefighters and told to go wait at the corner. I saw Colleen and she told me the 624 building (where my class was) was off-limits because of a bomb threat.
Great.
I walked across the street, where I found my teacher and a chunk of my class. I handed in my paper, but we weren't sure what was going to happen with our test. By the time it was about 9:15, we had a feeling the test wouldn't happen. Even if the building was reopened right then, it would take at least 30 minutes to get all of the teachers, students, and faculty in there (there are only four elevators and sometimes just on regular morning it can take you 10 minutes to get on an elevator and get to your class) and by that time we would only have about 35 minutes to take the test. Yes, that was do-able, but not ideal.
10:30 rolled around and we still weren't being let in. By that time, we realized that we would have, at most, 20 minutes to take the test. The teacher told us we could stay and try to take the test with her 10:30 class or leave and she would just use our past grades to decide our final grade. I've done pretty well in the class, so I left.
My guess (for why someone did a bomb threat) is someone really didn't want to take their final today...
