Callbacks went well. I was freaking out because the list said they wanted two contrasting songs, but they wanted the ballad (which should be the stronger song) first. The only ballad I had was What I Did For Love, which Sheldon had already heard me sing, not to mention I didn't sound great singing it. I much prefered 42nd Street.
I got there and went in and asked "So you want to hear my ballad?" Sheldon said "Just sing whichever you're most comfortable with." SCORE!
They seemed to enjoy it. Sheldon was bobbing his head. I didn't do the second ending (Naughty, bawdy...) and Sheldon said "What about 'Naughty, bawdy?'" so I sang that part and he nodded. As O walked out I could hear the pianist playing the tune again.
Then, we went in in groups of four to do harmony stuff. In my group we had one guy and three girls, so I ended up singing the tenor part. Afterwards, the women who will be the music director of the show said "Thank you for singing the tenor part. I know it was low."
I really hope I get in...but if I don't it's cool.
Cast list goes up Tuesday.
