Aug. 6th, 2006 12:53 amSo Godspell is over. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't the least bit saddened.
Yesterday was the traditional scavanger hunt. The cast and crew break up into teams (each with a car and a camera). Each team writes down three items to find/do around the city (and video tape) and then the complete list is given out to all the teams. In addition, each teams gets a song from the show which must be performed through out the video. I was on a team with
sita_face, Jordan Queen, Kyle, and Meghann. Jordan's dad was driving, so there were six of us (which was slightly against the rules, because each person is supposed to have a seat belt). We got All Good Gifts, which worked out well because ti was Jordan's song.
Our first stop was
sita_face's house, where we found/completed the following:
-Singing with marshmallows in your mouth
-Singing while eating a slice of pizza
-Purple grannie panties
-Cross-dressing catholic school girl/boy
-Singing while sitting on a large rock
We then headed to the levee to cartwheel down. If I recall correctly, our next stop was 42nd Street where we had to time step.
Now one of the things was to lick a Bradford Pear tree. We had no idea what that was. We found out where some were and drove there. They were on a median, but rather than parking the car, running across the highway, doing the deed, then running back, we stopped in the U-turn lane, jumped out and did it, then ran back.
sita_face: We just parked in a U-turn lane to lick a tree!
We headed to Cane's to complete a few more. When we got there, they told us they were closed.
Us: We don't want food! We need your help!
One of the items to find was a fast food employee's nametag. There was a lady sitting outside of Cane's who provided us with one. We also needed someone to impersonate Alan Payne singing. She was amazing!
Another employee came out.
sita_face *pointing to me*: Kiss her on the cheek while we sing and videotape it!
He didn't believe us at first, but then we showed him the list of thing.
We headed back to watch the other videos, feeling hyper, regardless of whether or not we won. We loved the stuff at Can'e and knew everyone else would. Sadly, they would not get to see it. Apparently, the video wasn't recording when we were at Cane's, so we didn'g get that stuff on tape. That was the most disappointing thing that happened.
Today I woke up feeling...well..icky. My throat was sore as heck. I'm definitely coming down with something, so I'm kind off glad today was the last two days of performances. We got standing ovations at both shows and during We Beseech Thee at the 7:30 show we got a standing ovation before the song was done. After the show, they let us take home one of the scarves if we wanted to. For those who didn't see the show, in the beginning of the show Patrick (Jesus) hands a scarf out to each of the soloists. Then at the Last Supper, we each return our scarf and have a moment with him.
I stayed after for a few hours to help strike the set, but I had to get home. I just felt really bad. I sneezed my way through both Oh Bless the Lord My Soul and Alas For You during the 7:30 show.
Quote of the day #1:
sita_face *after Patrick (Jesus) talked about accidentally hitting Brian (Judas)*: Dude, don't you whack him every night? *pause* Wait, I didn't mean it like that...
Quote of the day #2:
Brian (Judas) *while talking about the aforementioned incident*: Don't worry, I'm gonna get him back, Wait until the second act!
