Oct. 12th, 2006 10:54 pmSo I'm a bit pissed, I'm not gonna lie. Remember the show I did tech work for last year? Chicago Musicality? That theater group is a student run organization connected to Columbia. So is The Columbia College Musical Theater Collective (for which I serve as a SOC Officer). The Collective has been around for a while, but the previous officers let it die out. We started it back up this year. So now that I've caught you up:
Today the Musical Theater Collective was holding our big meeting to tell non-officers what is going on with the group in the way of shows, fundraisers, etc. Chrissy (the head of Chicago Musicality) was telling people not to come to our meeting. I guess she considers us competition or whatnot.
It's just all so high school! I mean, it's like that girl who found out you were having a big party the same night she was planning to, and she tells everyone not to go to yours. It's fucking bullshit and pointless!
It didn't seem to have had much of an effect, though. We had more people at this meeting than we had at the first one and three members of Chicago Musicality were there.
I'm over it, though. If she continues to act like that (and stab her friends in the back) it's her problem.
Tegan and I are going to see Altar Boyz tonight. One of the Co-creators of the show was at Columbia today (our dance teacher knows him) and I've heard many good things about it.
