Oct. 17th, 2005 12:21 pmThis weekend was wonderful.
My mom and I stayed at The Marriot near O'Hare. Saturday we went shopping at Woodfield. It is the largest mall in Illinois and the second largest mall in America.
This place was HUGE. I can't even put into words the complexity of the building. It took us about 20 minutes to find a bathroom. I think there were about seven shoe stores, not including the department stores like JC Penny and Sears that sold shoes as well. They have a store entirely dedicated to Christmas. There were at least five nice resturants (not counting fast food places and cafe's).
We managed to find me a coat, two dresses, some boots, a comforter, two posters, a desk lamp, and a small mirror that I can stand on my desk.
When we came back into the downtown area, we dropped off my stuff and walked around some more. We stopped by Holy Name Church for mass. My mom wanted to go there because Andrew Greeley writes about it in his books. We didn't get much, just some shoes. However, I have a better idea of where I'm going now. I hated that she had to leave, though.
We watched Clue last night ( which none of them have seen, except Colleen). We couldn't get into the Multimedia room because they were having an iPod party.
What. The. Fuck.
An iPod party? That has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. I mean...are they serious? From what I understand, the basic gist was that you went with your top ten songs and they played them at random. Hm...sounds like a high school dance to me...
Also, Sweeney Todd is opening in November. With Michael Cerveris. And Patti LuPone. I must see this. Right now they are doing previews, but it opens officially on November 3rd.
Thought: I will be in Washington D.C. for Thanksgiving. Washington D.C. is 4 hours away from New York by train. *strokes chin thoughtfully*
My dad loves Sweeney Todd, so he'll porbably want to see it as well. *excited*
